Parish Council Meeting on the 9th March 2022

 at 6.45pm in the Village Hall

 

The meeting will allow for a 15-minute Public Participation Session. Should no members of the public be present at 6.45pm to raise matters, the Council Meeting will commence.

Following the sudden and unexpected death of our long-standing Clerk Mrs Christine Newton, the meeting will observe a minutes silence.

Thanks are extended to Mr David Sisson, chairman at Halton Holgate, for assisting with communications and transfer of laptop and paperwork, now with Chairman.

d) Petty Cash £25.73 (NB. At time of writing no petty cash has been found by Clerks widower. Unclear what is to happen in this circumstance.)

Attempt made 28th February to contact HSBC and a) inform of Clerk death and b) get bank information re-directed. Letter to Lincoln Branch sent.

12. Traffic calming

“Gates” at the village boundaries have been discussed as a method of calming traffic. Does the Council wish to proceed? (May be discussed in conjunction with 11 b & c if appropriate).

13. Asset Maintenance

The two bus shelters would benefit from a re-paint to avoid more expensive maintenance at a later date.

The 3 benches would also benefit from periodic sanding and re-coating with varnish / preserver.

Likewise the notice boards would benefit from cleaning and refurbishment.

14. Interim approach to Clerk

Chairman currently has laptop and archive paperwork. A new email address has been created and circulated. Vacancy has been advertised with closing date 15th March.

15. To Discuss the purchase of Poppies for Poppy Day

RBL Horncastle have advised that the large street furniture poppies are £3 each, and to order ASAP if we wish to purchase.
