8th May 2024 Annual Parish Meeting
Present: Cllr M. Doody – Chair of Thimbleby Parish Council

1. Chair of Thimbleby Parish Council’s Report
Cllr Doody read his report to those present thanking his fellow councillors for their support and efforts for the parish. He spoke about the funds for two speed indicator devices to be purchased had been raised for maintaining the bus shelters and benches. The Council’s noticeboard near the Durham Ox had been damaged in Storm Henk but it was planned to replace it. The winter storms had caused flooding and Lincolnshire County Council were looking into the causes and planned to improve the drains. The Parish Council were looking at what they could do to maintain the Village Pump. Mr Lincoln, had taken on the role of Co-ordinator of Community Speedwatch and more volunteers were needed.
2. Village Hall
There was no representative of the Village Hall to provide a report this year.
3. Community Speed Watch
Mr Lincoln, Co-ordinator advised that he had issued a flyer to get more volunteers. He also advised that he thought some cars were travelling along Mill Lane at about 60mph. He requested that the passive speed signs be replaced with new ones due to the sun bleaching the existing signs.
4. Thimbleby Church
There was no representative to provide a report this year.
5. Durham Ox
The publican advised that they were raising funds to replenish the defibrillator.
6. Questions from the floor
There were no questions from the floor. A general discussion took place about various issues that could be improved in the village.
The Chair thanked everybody for their attendance and taking part in the discussion.
